Meet a few of the animals
The word bank brings together mammals, birds, reptiles and creatures from the sea. Each puzzle picks a small selection, so the names below will appear across different days and practice grids.
- Beaver — a swimming rodent that uses branches to build dams and lodges.
- Heron — a long-legged bird often seen waiting for fish in shallow water.
- Otter — a playful-looking mammal with a long body adapted to swimming.
- Walrus — a large marine mammal recognized by its long tusks and whiskers.
- Gazelle — a slender antelope known for its speed.
- Cricket — an insect whose familiar chirping usually comes from rubbing its wings together.
A few simple rules
- Find every word in the list. Accented letters keep their accents; match the letters exactly.
- Easy words run to the right or down. Standard adds diagonals and backward words.
- Drag from the first letter to the last, or tap both ends. Selecting the same word again will not add to your score.
- Keyboard: Tab to the grid, move with arrow keys, and press Enter or Space at each end. Escape cancels.
Try an endpoint selection
For CAT in three neighboring cells, select C and then T. The middle A is included automatically. A selection must follow one straight line.
